JOURNEY TO MOROCCO

SPRING 2022

DISCOVER THE BEST OF MOROCCO ON A 10-DAY ADVENTURE WITH A SMALL GROUP OF CURIOUS TRAVELERS

ⵙ WHAT’S THE JOURNEY?

Welcome to Morocco, the country on Africa’s northern edge that inspired our very ethos (and it was here, in the sands of the Sahara, that our founder reached her decision to choose a different route in life: away from corporate jobs and into adventure). Moroccan design is the stuff of legends. Its world-famous medinas and souks brim with ancient energy. The landscapes will take your breath away. In 10 days and 9 nights, we will explore Morocco’s not-to-be-missed destinations: from the Blue Pearl of Chefchaouene to the Atlas mountains, from the lush oases in the Skoura Valley to the arid Sahara dunes, from tiny Assilah to majestic Marrakech. We won’t see everything in Morocco, but we will see enough for you to fall in love and keep coming back for more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Do I need to be a photographer (or a social media influencer) to join you on this tour? No. Our focus is on making sure we travel at our own pace and getting to know the places and people around us. We have a passion for photography and we want to share this passion with the group - but it is not mandatory by all means to be a professional photographer or have an interest in photography/social media. All we ask is that you come with an open mind and heart.

  2. Who fulfills the trip on the ground? We are partnering with a wonderful tour company on the ground that has a passion for same things we do to make this happen. We have used this company's services in the past and we really like their mission and work ethics.

  3. What gear do I need to bring? Whatever gear you are comfortable with or want to learn more about: your phone, your DSLR, or no gear at all - all options are just fine (see #1). If you want to try your hand at astrophotography, we'd recommend bringing a DSLR and a tripod.

  4. How much cash do I need on the ground? You should expect to need a total of 2,255 MAD for the trip (that's ~$235). This would cover tips, meals that are not included, and any small miscellaneous expenses. You can take cash out at many ATMs in Casablanca upon arrival.

  5. Do I need to arrive and depart at a specific time? We have included transfers to/from airport as part of the trip, so you will have flexibility in choosing the flights that work for you. Afternoon arrival and morning departure are ideal - but we can work with other schedules as well.

  6. What about visas?  For US citizens: we will not need a visa to enter Morocco. If you will be traveling with any other passport, please email us so we can advise on visas.

  7. What about travel insurance? Starting September 2019, we will require all travelers to provide proof of current and adequate travel insurance 30 days prior to departure. We strongly recommend that travel insurance addresses trip cancellation coverage. The bookings (including the deposit and the remaining payment) are non-refundable; Trip cancellation insurance may be the only means of receiving reimbursement for flights and other non-refundable travel expenses should the trip be cancelled for any reason by you. There are many options of travel insurance to choose from; see more here.

  8. Is it safe to visit Morocco right now? Yes. Our founder, Yulia, has recently returned from a one week stay in Morocco (Oct 2019) and it is safe there. The situation on the ground is often less extreme than what media portrays. We will of course take every precaution to travel safely, as we should anywhere we go on the planet. Read more about our view on this here.

  9. What about traveling during Ramadan? Ramadan is one of the most important holidays in the Islamic faith and a holy month of fasting, reflection, and coming together as a community. In 2020, Ramadan falls on Apr 23 - May 23. Traveling during Ramadan is not an issue. Shops and restaurants will be open, but quieter than usual. The villages and cities will come to life during the nighttime hours when the fasting breaks.
